Happens?
Accommodation is offered to those individuals who will benefit most from the services of the project. The following aspects of an application are taken into account. Housing Need: There must be a good reason why the young person cannot continue to live where they are. He/She must have a need for housing and training. The applicant must have local connections. Training: The Foyer staff supports and encourages residents in their personal development and training. Applicants are expected to demonstrate a commitment to self-improvement. Support: The accommodation provided is self-contained and applicants are expected to have basic domestic life skills. However the Foyer staff are available to provide some advice and support. Risk Assessment: We do not take applicants where there is a likelihood of significant anti-social behaviour; for example those with a history of violence or vandalism. Who makes the decision? Two members of the staff consider each application. They will, in turn, present each case to the Foyer Manager for a decision. Applicants will be informed of the decision as soon as possible. When the Foyer has full occupancy, successful applicants will be placed on a waiting list.
