The Quay Foyer Trust

The Trust is continuing its good work fundraising to put residents ideas for changes into place.

Changes proposed by former residents include redesigning and resiting the reception, lounge and laundry rooms and the upgrade of the Art Rooms and IT suite.

Upbeat

Turquoise Development in partnership with Whitehorse Training gave Quay foyer residents the opportunity to spend a week on a personal development programme which partnered Turquoise's Upbeat qualification with Whitehorse's outward bound course.

Upbeat is an interactive Personal Development Programme written especially to meet the needs of Young People in the age range of 16 to 22 years. The programme is accredited at Level 1 and Level 2 by the Open College Network South West Region.

Focus Group

The Focus Group has been successful in receiving another grant from the Local Network Fund.

Set up by residents of the foyer, who also form the committee, the Focus Group will be able to provide a series of activities to residents (16-25 years of age) from youth housing organisations in the local area.

From February 2007 activities available will include: Kick Boxing, Drama, Dance, Art, Music, Yoga and personal development workshops.

We look forward to having some fun.

Quay Foyer Development
Appeal

The Quay Foyer Development may start as early as Easter 2007. £43,000 has already been donated by a variety of kind trusts, organisations and individuals in the local area. Plans to go ahead with the redesign of the reception and lounge area in 2007 are being discussed.

Various events to raise the rest of the funds needed to complete the rest of the development works are being looked into.

A golf tournament, classical music event and music event are planned for the first half next year.
